VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP
GOING PLACES SAFELY
Students will be able to discover and understand that Internet can be used to visit places around the world and learn new things. They will also discover that visiting places online is similar to visiting places in the real world and we need to stay safe all the time. The rules that apply in real world also applies on the Internet when visiting places.
INTERNET FIELD TRIP
Students will learn the the key vocabulary term WEBSITE. They will be visiting websites from real places. Visiting the San Diego Zoo in California they can watch different videos about animals they love! They can also watch live animal cams of the residents of the zoo like the panda, polar bear, ape, and elephants. They will see what they are doing to prepare to get ready for their night nap. It is night time in San Diego and it is day time in Bangkok. The best time to watch the live cams is early in the morning, it is before the night falls in San Diego, California. They will explore other pages of the website to find interesting facts, pictures and movies about the other animals and the animals they love.
Another website they visited is the MOMA Art Museum in New York City. They explored and learned about famous artworks from the 1900s and the 1800s.

Students will understand the difference between an in-person field trip and an online field trip. But both types of field trips offer different ways for students to learn new things. Students will reflect on their virtual field trip by making a drawing of a place they visited on the internet and what they saw on the internet.
At the end of this lesson, students will learn and must follow the following rules before using the computer and the internet:
(1) Always ask your parents (teacher) ;
(2) Only talk to people you know;
(3) Visit places that are just right for you.
